Meet Our Staff
Coach Hylton Dayes
After 30 years as a collegiate head coach, I’ve compiled a diverse background of experiences as both a successful coach and an accomplished player while becoming the longest-tenured coach at the University of Cincinnati.
Currently, I’m a youth development coach for Louisville City, a USL Championship team.
About Coach Dayes
A native of Kingston, Jamaica, I graduated with a degree in electrical systems engineering from Wright State.
I enjoyed a distinguished playing career at Wright State. As a four-time all-Mideast, all-Ohio and team MVP selection, I am the only athlete in school history to be named all-American all four years of my career. From these accomplishments, I’m also one of three student-athletes to have his jersey retired at the school.
From college, I played on the professional level for the Dayton Dynamo of the National Professional Soccer League for two seasons and the Orlando Lions of the American Professional Soccer League for one year.
My collegiate head coaching career extends from Wright State to James Madison University to the University of Cincinnati. I’ve lead teams to numerous NCAA Championships, top 25 National Rankings, and guided players to conference and national accolades.
I have been the former chair of the NSCAA board and chairman of the Black Soccer Coaches Committee, as well as a Region II Olympic Development Program coach. I am accredited with the NSCAA Advanced National Coaching diploma, the USSF National A license, as well as being a member of the NSCAA National Academy Coaching Staff.
I married my wife, Karen, in 2008 and welcomed our son, Brandon, to the world later that year.
Brad Hornback
Brad was born and raised in Louisville. He attended Ballard high school and graduated in 2020.
Since graduating, Brad has played in England, Sweden, Latvia, and the United States. He currently plays for Southern Indiana FC, located in New Albany, Indiana.
Outside of DST, Brad coaches the 2013/14 and 2015/16 girls teams for the Southern Indiana FC youth academy.
What Brad loves about coaching is sharing his knowledge, experience and love of soccer with the next generation of players. He loves showing them that through hard work, learning from mistakes, a positive mindset and taking full accountability of their development and performance they will see that the possibilities are endless. Brad believes that there is no limit to his players’ potential. Brad knows that this game teaches many valuable life lessons and he is grateful to be a small part of his athletes’ soccer journeys.
